JOHN WAITE: Back in his feet again
Last Friday, British singer and bass player John Waite, founder member of the Babys (1976) and Bad English (1989), played at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. The show included some of his most successful hits throughout his thirty-year career.
Songs like "When I See You Smile" from Bad English, "Isn't It Time", "Everytime I Think of You" and "Back on My Feet Again" from The Babys era, and his 1984 worldwide solo hit "Missing You" were part of a joyful evening having the Pacific Ocean as a background.
The singer/songwriter just released his most recent record called Downtown Journey of a Heart, a compilation that includes his own take of Bob Dylan's classic "Highway 61". The show ended with an unexpected rendering of Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll". It was a great fun night.
